If you want to grow from good to great…. if you want to climb to your God-given potential…. you must make whatever you are doing bigger than yourself. You must seek to change the world in a positive way.
In Acts 17, Paul and some of the other followers of Jesus were going from city to city reaching people with the gospel. Some were ticked that these guys would come to their city preaching and teaching about Jesus. Some of the people in Thessalonica put it this way, “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too” (Acts 17:6, NKJV).
What did it mean that they “turned the world upside down”? It means they were changing the world in a way that upset the status quo. They were making a positive difference in people’s lives through the gospel of Jesus and some people did not like it.
Anytime you seek to change the world in a positive way, there will be some, and sometimes many, who do not like it. They will do and say things to keep you from moving forward. Because when you turn the world upside down it could mean their own world will be turned upside down as well.
We must challenge the status quo. We must develop a God-perspective in this world. God has called you to climb to your God-given potential and that includes turning the world upside down.
If your life is all about you, then you will never reach your God-given potential. You may experience some success. You may even improve your own life in a limited and temporary way, but you will never reach your God-given potential until you develop a God perspective and seek to turn the world upside down.
Reaching your God-given potential is not about playing it safe, being comfortable, or improving your own little world. It is about using your gifts, passions, abilities, personality style, and experiences to change the world! Let’s change the world together!!
God is not done with you… so never settle, live with enthusiasm, and turn the world upside down!
