What two key words separate those who reach their God-given potential and those who do not?
That is it. Those are the two key words that separate those who move toward their God-given potential and those who do not. Intentional Commitment.
Tony Robbins says it is when something becomes a must that people move forward.
Intentional commitment, committed action, developing your “must”, however you want to say it, it comes down to deciding exactly what you are going to do and then doing it no matter what. (Dave Ramsey calls this your “no matter whats.”).
Zig Ziglar tells the story of when he was a little boy during the depression, he always tried to be at the neighbor’s house at dinner time. The reason? He thought his neighbors were rich. Why? Because they had their own cook and the cook had something to cook.
One day the cook brought a pan of biscuits out of the oven and they were not any thicker than a wrist watch. Zig asked the lady, “What on earth happened to your biscuits?” She laughed a little bit and answered, “Well, these biscuits squatted to rise, and they just got cooked in the squat.”
Often times we get cooked in the squat. We get ready to do something, or we talk about doing something or we seek affirmation and approval from others before we do something, and we inevitably end up getting cooked in the squat.
Be intentional, make a solid commitment, and take action. This is how you get closer to reaching your God-given potential.
