Climbing to Our God-Given Potential Together

_MG_0038lowresWOW! Last week I completed 100 blogs over the course of 100 business days. I love traveling this path to my God-given potential and I love sharing this journey with others. Over the past 100 blogs, I have shared with you stories and lessons I have learned over 25 plus years of climbing to my God-given potential.

I am investing the rest of my life sharing my experiences and lessons through speaking, writing, and coaching. For those of you who have joined me on this journey, I hope I get to see more and more of you as we take this journey together. I know this journey may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but for some of you, this is exactly what you want out of life.

Overcoming failure

Relationships

Priority management

Our spiritual walk

Goals

Dreaming

Enthusiasm

And a number of other subjects. However, they all have one thing in common – climbing to our God-given potential. It is my heart’s desire to have as many people as possible join me on this journey.

007I will continue to write blogs, but probably not five a week like I have done over the past few months. The main subject in all of them will be how we can better climb to our God-given potential. Thank you for reading as you travel with me.

What are some areas I could cover that would help you in your climb to your God-given potential? Perhaps someone else is needing similar information as they take their journey. What are some success stories you would like to share?

Start Your Journey On Your Knees

kneesMatthew 7:7-8 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened” (NIV). Ask, seek, and knock is the 3-step process of reaching your God-given potential. Let’s take a look at what each one of these entails.

Ask
Pray about what God is wanting to do in your life. If you are going to climb to your God-given potential, it must start with talking to the One who created that potential in the first place. If you are going to climb that mountain, it must start on your knees.

Seek
Seek out the best ways to make it happen. Be creative. We serve a creative God. He created us in His image. Therefore, we must have some level of creativity as well. Let’s use it. Creatively seek out ways to get from where you are to where God wants you to be.

Knock
Knocking is taking action. All the prayer and creative seeking of God’s plan will not do any good if we do not act on that plan. Take action! Nothing happens until something happens. So, go make things happen!not done 2Ask God about climbing to your God-given potential, creatively seek out ways to make that happen, and then take enthusiastic action. If any changes are going to take place in your life it must be done immediately and enthusiastically. Start now and start inspired!

Tie the ask, seek, knock plan in with the three actions we have talked about this week of never settling, living with enthusiasm, and turning the world upside down and you will be well on your way to reaching your God-given potential.

Are you ready for this journey? Are you ready to join the revolution against the mundane into an enthusiastic life of God-sized proportions? Ask, seek, knock, never settle, live with enthusiasm, and turn the world upside down.

God is still wanting you to be a part of what he is doing in this world. It is not just about going to heaven when you die. It is also about bringing strong glimpses of heaven right here on earth by serving God in the way he has made you to serve him.

God is not done with you… so never settle, live with enthusiasm, and turn the world upside down… Here we go!

An Atheist’s Journey to Faith: A Movie Review of “The Case for Christ”

case movieLast night I went with my church family to see the movie, “The Case for Christ.” I read the book several years ago and had been greatly anticipating seeing the movie since I heard they were making it. I was not disappointed.

Although it was not as good as the book (movies seldom are), it was well done and brought forth a great message. The movie is based on the life of Lee Strobel.  Lee was an atheist that decided to investigate the Christian faith, and specifically the resurrection of Jesus, after his wife became a Christian.

case for faithWanting desperately to prove his wife wrong, he set out on a journalistic investigation by meeting up with some of the top experts in the fields of science, psychology, medicine, philosophy, and yes, theology. Although the movie does not bring this out, Strobel’s investigation took approximately two years to conclude. As a top notch journalist for the Chicago Tribune who was also an atheist, all he was looking for were the facts to prove the Christian faith wrong.

The movie follows Strobel’s journey through this process to the point of his ultimate conclusion. One important moment in the movie is where Strobel had published a story about a man involved in a shooting before he had acquired all the facts. As a result, the man was convicted of the shooting and later badly beaten in prison. Strobel eventually apologized to the man for reporting on the incident before having all the facts. The man looks at Strobel and says, “You did not want to see all the facts.”

caseStrobel realizes that this man’s statement was not only true about the shooting, it was also true about the resurrection and the Christian faith. After gathering facts and investing for two years to disprove the resurrection and the claims of the Christian faith, Strobel comes to this conclusion; it would take more faith to remain an atheist than it would to become a Christian. (Again, the movie does not bring this out as strongly as the book does.)

If you have questions about the Christian faith and you enjoy movies I would encourage you to see “The Case For Christ”. If you enjoy reading and you have questions about the Christian faith, it would be even better to read the book of the same title.
