Have you ever thought about Jesus getting sick and throwing up? Is that even right to think such a thing? What would make Jesus vomit?

A bad case of the flu?
Some Middle Eastern contaminated water?
Eating food without washing his hands?

Here’s a thought…. perhaps, it is our lack of passion… hmmmmmm

 Revelation 3:15-16passion
“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth” (NIV). Some translations actually translate the word “spit” as “vomit”.

Maybe our lack of passion is what causes Jesus to vomit. Find your God-given passion and follow it passionately. Let’s get hot and on fire!

“I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnate. You make me want to vomit” (The Message).

What else does the Bible say about passion?

 Proverbs 4:23
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (NIV). Guard your God-given passion. Do not let roadblocks suck the life right out of you by stealing your passion. “Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts” (The Message).

Proverbs 27:19
“As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man” (NIV). People define who you are by what you are passionate about. People can see it in your face. “Just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart” (The Message).

Matthew 12:34
“For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks” (NIV). What you talk about most is typically what you are most passionate about. If you want to know if your passion is a godly passion, listen to yourself talk, is it godly talk? “It’s your heart, not the dictionary that gives meaning to your words” (The Message).

Mark 12:30
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (NIV). If you want to have a God-given passion, it starts with having an all-out passion for God.  “So love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy” (The Message).

If you do not want Jesus to throw up all over you (I know, that is gross, right? So, pay attention to these next words.) Fall passionately in love with God and then follow your God-given passion…passionately!
